The Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation endeavors to become the leading worldwide resource for
peer-based grief support programs; providing compassion, practical resources, and hope for the future to our community members and to the people who will follow us on this journey of grief recovery.
Every single human being will experience the death of someone they love. We are creating a community that will be stand by you, by your family members, by your friends and neighbors when they need support to recreate their lives in the aftermath of a life altering loss.
By joining our Founder's Circle you provide the foundation upon which this dream is built. When someone is grieving, asking for help is often difficult. So we will ask for your help to assist each and every person in communities around the world who seek confirmation that healing is possible, and that life after a devastating loss is still a gift.
Your contribution will fund the on-going costs of hosting our websites; enable us to upgrade out match programs to include other categories of loss ie; the loss of siblings, children, fathers, mothers; provide scholarships for widowed people who are unable to attend our Camp Widow program due to financial limitations; assist us in embarking on a national marketing campaign highlighting the services offered by SSLF; and enable us to increase our outreach to organizations whose purpose complements our mission to provide worldwide peer-based grief support programs.
Your donation both supports our efforts, and illustrates to anyone visiting our site that there are people who believe that the work we do is necessary. Thank you for believing in the healing power of our community.
As a token of our gratitue, and a reflection of our special emphasis on supporting widowed people around the world, we are pleased to gift a copy of Season's of Solace, by Janelle Shantz Hertzler with any contribution to our Founder's Circle program. Janelle has shared her grief story through a beautiful pairing of photography and poetry. After the death of her husband in a drunk driving accident while living in Thailand, Janelle found an artistic outlet for her feelings of love and sorrow. Though written from one person's perspective, Hertzler's poems and photographs reflect the universal experience of losing a loved one. You will find both inspiration and hope in this lovely book.
